Y. Usami - Kendo Renshi 6th Dan
Usami sensei is a patient and friendly teacher who instructs both kids and adult students from beginner to advanced grades. He has won multiple State and National titles including winning the 2023 Australian Kendo Championship Veteran’s division. Usami sensei is currently the Team NSW Men’s coach preparing the team for the 2025 Australian Kendo Championship.

I. Nakane - Kendo 5th Dan
Nakane sensei is a patient and intuitive teacher, always with a kind word and ready smile who has taught many students in our adult intermediate and advanced level classes.

K. Sugihara - Kendo 5th Dan
Sugihara sensei holds multiple State and National Championship titles and is our resident Men’s Team Captain. He coaches both intermediate and advanced students during training sessions.

H. Shindo - Kendo 5th Dan
Shindo sensei is a gifted teacher who has won multiple International titles in Japan, Europe and Australia, including winning the championship title in the Open division of Samurai Cup held in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2024. Shindo sensei is currently the Team NSW Women’s coach, helping the team prepare for the 2025 Australian Kendo Championship.

Jinny Lai - Kendo 5th Dan
Jinny sensei has previously represented Australia in the World Kendo Championship, and has recently returned to train with us. She is a very friendly teacher who helps to teach the beginner and junior grade classes when time permits.

Julie Feng - Kendo 5th Dan
Julie sensei was the Australian Women’s Team Captain in the 2024 World Kendo Championship held in Milan where they secured third placing. She teaches the junior grade students and helps the intermediate grades improve their techniques.
